‘Fair Isle, Five Thousand Years’
Summer 2015
I was commissioned by The National Trust for Scotland to produce a series of stylised interpretations of archaeological sites together with a map of the island to feature in their interpretation leaflet. The brief was to create the illustrations in a ‘craft’ style that reflected the island’s association with Fair Isle wool. Original artwork was supplied in black and white, allowing the leaflet’s designer Shirley Lochhead of ‘Tea & Type’ to add her own colours and choice of fonts.
