Spring 2013

This decorated samian bowl, found in the late 19th century by workmen at Glasgow Green is the only complete bowl of its kind to have been discovered in Scotland.

Previously, the bowl had not been so comprehensively illustrated. Note the uneven nature of the bowl and the owner’s mark, ‘N’, on the base of the bowl.
